Citation Machine – Citation Machine will make referencing much easier for you. The website will properly format your reference simply by putting in the information required. However, make sure that you know what information you do need when you are doing your research or else this will not help you.

Internet Quality Checklist – A quick way to help determine if the information you are looking at on the internet is of a high quality.

Picture Dictionary – This is an online picture dictionary in which you can hear, in English, common words and phrases from a school setting. The dictionary has photographs for each word or phrase as well as the word written in the other language. This may be useful for some ESL students. The dictionary has translations between English and the following languages: Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish.

Rhymer – An online rhyming dictionary. Simply put in a word and it will give you a list of words that rhyme with it. You can choose how you want the word to rhyme.

Your Dictionary.com – An incredibly comprehensive site that indexes over 800 dictionaries and thesauri in 150 languages.

Movie Maker Forums – This site has it all. It includes tutorials, downloads, suggestions, examples, and a place for you to post questions. This is where I downloaded all of the transitions, effects, and titles that we have on our school computers.

Ad-Aware – Provides you with advanced protection against spyware that secretly attaches and takes control of your computer, resulting in aggressive advertising pop-ups, and sluggish computer activity.

Audacity – Audacity is free, open source software for recording and editing sounds.

AVG AntiVirus – A free anti-virus software program. Rated high on a number of different reviews for free anti-virus software. However, does not have the same quality protection as some purchased software but it is better than nothing.

BlockCAD – A very cool model-building program that allows you to use Lego blocks to build anything you want.

Celestia – The free space simulation that lets you explore our universe in three dimensions.

CoffeeCup Free HTML Editor – The CoffeeCup Free HTML Editor is a drag and drop HTML Editor with Built-in FTP uploading. It has wizards for tables, frames, images, links, forms and fonts and comes with all HTML 4.0 and XHTML tags.

Comodo Firewall – Comodo Firewall, rated by PC Magazine Online as an Editor’s Choice, constantly monitors and defends your PC from internet attacks. Works well and was rated high even against expensive software firewalls.

GIMP – GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring.

Google Earth – Google Earth combines the power of Google Search with satellite imagery, maps, terrain and 3D buildings to put the world’s geographic information at your fingertips.

Inkscape – Inkscape is an Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw, or Xara X

K3D – K-3D is a complete free-as-in-freedom 3D modeling, animation and rendering system.

Kompozer – A complete web authoring system that combines web file management and easy-to-use WYSIWYG web page editing. (Like Dreamweaver and Frontpage)
